Opening the doors on eye research

The NIHR Clinical Research Facility is on the second floor of Moorfields Eye Hospital at 162 City Road, London, EC1V 2PD.

On Friday 19 May the Moorfields National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Facility will open its doors to the public for its annual open day in celebration of International Clinical Trials Day.

The Clinical Research Facility at Moorfields provides a high quality clinical environment in which patients can undergo research programmes safely and effectively.  

Members of the public will have the chance to learn about the science that goes into developing new treatments and how each patient’s participation in clinical trials contributes to improved treatment for eye disease in the future.

The day will run from 9.30am to 1.30pm and will include:

  • Talks from leading researchers and doctors about the latest advances in eye research.
  • The opportunity to find out about becoming a volunteer in ongoing and future research studies.
  • Equipment demonstrations: explore the inner structure of your eye with interactive demonstrations from our medical imaging team.

Light refreshments will be provided.
